How we use cookies

A cookie is a small piece of text sent to your browser by a website you visit. It helps the site remember information about your visit, which can make it easier to visit the site again and make the site more useful to you.

We do use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit our site.

We also use third party advertisements on our site to support it. Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google Adsense program) information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases whether your have installed specific plugins in your browser. This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

Through the Google Adsense program, Google uses cookies for advertising, including serving and rendering ads, personalizing ads (depending on your ad settings at g.co/adsettings), limiting the number of times an ad is shown to a user, muting ads you have chosen to stop seeing, and measuring the effectiveness of ads.

Some of these cookies are used to prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
